Wedding Bell Blues...

Wow... I'm still recovering from Saturday's wedding. It was a challenging one, for a variety of reasons, and it's one I'm not going to forget for a long time. All in all, the bride and groom handled it with extraordinary grace. The lunch for the bride was very late, and she hadn't eaten since 6 a.m. (one of my biggest fears is a fainting bride). The flu hit the bridal party, causing the personal attendant to arrive late and leave early, and causing a groomsman to get sick on another groomsman (wrecking 2 suit coats and temporarily suspending pictures in one of the better locations inside on a cold, windy MN day). The pastor was 30 minutes late, and had to be replaced by a replacement pastor. The ceremony was late starting, and late ending, causing the switch from ceremony to reception site to be delayed. There was a rowdy guest who brawled with another guest. All these issues and a few others caused me to be held 3 hours beyond what I was booked for. Carrying 20 lbs. of camera gear for 8 hours left my shoulders achy but Detra and Demetrius were awesome to work with. They had every right to turn into Bridezilla and Groomzilla given all the challenges, but they handled it with class and style.

It's heeeeeere!

After what seemed like a long time waiting, I finally jumped at purchasing the lens I wanted. It's the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens. It should make for even better wedding photos, as the image quality is superb from reviews that I've read. I will get serious time testing it out with a wedding rehearsal Thursday and 5-7 hour wedding Saturday. Sample images to follow in a few days.

Yep, I'm gonna be a big brother...

I spent an hour with a family of 3, soon to be 4. This is my favorite shot of the soon-to-be big brother. He is so sweet and gentle with his mom, and he is so proud of the baby inside his mommy's tummy. His little brother is due in May, and his family can hardly wait.
